Lily of the valley ! Even since the Antiquity, the beginning of the beautiful days, in other words, the spring is celebrated with this famous flower. The romans used to celebrate it until the beginning of the month of may, as the Florales, in honor of Flora, the goddess of the flowers. In fact, it’s only at the beginning of the nineteeth century, that it is associated with Labor Day, in France. But what about it’s perfume ? It is discreet and delicate.. On the other hand, this flower is said to be mute in perfumery, because it is very fragile and cannot be distilled. However, the lily of the valley represents, for me, an “Ode to Joy” and the energy instilled by the spring.

While in 2016, The Artisan Parfumeur introduced us with Natura Fabularis, the brand, today opens a new chapter with the olfactive impressionism. For the occasion, Fabrice Pellegrin, the perfumer has worked up two fragrances, Sur l’Herbe and Au bord de l’eau. Two names after the famous impressionists, such as Manet and Monet. I love Sur l’Herbe at first sight… Sur l’Herbe from the Artisan Parfumeur, of course !

Angel by Mugler is the one perfume from the nineties which triggered the buzz to the greedy family in the fragrances. Although present in the perfumes for a long time, Angel gave to the greedy family a boost, by introducing different notes. Consequently, after their 25th anniversary, the Mugler house has agreed to a partnership with the Maison du Chocolat.

More portraits…. Today, it’s Jean-Marie Martin-Hattemberg who is expert to the Versailles Court of Appeals, also specialized in Ancient Perfumery of the XX century, but is as well a passionate of perfumery items, to whom I will give the floor. Inexhaustible on the subject, he has always a story to tell you, to show you his last acquisition, or a pending book… Nothing intimidates him !
